3-day Express Home Expo to take off today

Pune, May 15 Mayor to inaugurate; top-notch builders to participate; public to have access to expert panel on various subjects

Are you one of those who had a hundred questions about buying a new home but didn’t know who to address them to? Well, fret no more. Making one of the most important decisions of your life notably easier is the Express Estates Home Expo 2008 that will kick off on Friday at the Saakhar Sankul in Shivaji Nagar.

The three-day event starting May has been put together after considerable thought and research and is aimed at answering every query one may have on housing — be it finance, legal issues or construction quality. With topnotch names in the sphere of homes, offices, commercial complexes, housing finance, interior designing and landscape architecture participating in the expo, it’s slated to be among the most comprehensive exhibitions on housing that the city has seen.

Adding a whole new dimension to the expo will be the four high-powered panel discussions scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday noon will see experts like deputy general manager of Bank of Baroda Subir Das, chairman and director general of Kohinoor Group Krishnakumar Goyal, CEO of Indiaproperties.com Naresh Malkani, DGM, State Bank of India Rajnish Kumar and general manager HDFC, Pune Dilip Apte hold forth on housing finance. The consumers will have a chance to pose questions to the panelists and get answers as to whether they should go in for floating or fixed interest loans.

The evening session will start at 5 pm and will highlight the technical aspects of construction in a debate titled ‘Smart Living’ where architect Shashi Prabhu, director Y S Sane Consultants Umesh Joshi, CMD Nyati Builders, Nitin Nyati, architect Pradeep Tethe and director Prestige Developments Rajesh Choudhary will put forth their expert opinions.

The Sunday noon session will have president of PBAP and CMD Kumar Builders Lalit Kumar Jain, legal expert Billol Khoratkar, Magarpatta Township CMD Satish Magar, MD Aditya Builders Shantilal Kataria and city engineer Prashant Waghmare discuss the legal aspects of construction in “Is the house legally yours?” Finally at 5 pm on Sunday ace interior designers Ram Paradkar and Hari Agashe along with landscape experts Jayant Dharap and Vikas Bhosekar and architect Rajiv Raje will throw light on interior and exterior aspects of homes.

The expo that will be inaugurated by Mayor Rajlaxmi Bhosale at 2 pm on Friday will be open to the public from 2.30 pm to 8 pm. On Saturday and Sunday the public will have access to the expo from 10 am to 8 pm.

    Reddit

    Reddit allows users to submit news articles and other online content to the site. Users also give articles a thumbs-up or thumbs-down. Reddit then uses those votes to build a user profile and to find articles to recommend to you. Users can also submit comments on items posted to the site.
