New Delhi A 3-year-old boy was found dead in a drain in Khajuri Khas of Northeast Delhi on Thursday. The police said the body was found while the drain was being cleaned in the morning.

Gopi had gone missing on January 22, and a case had been registered at the Khajuri Khas Police Station. The police said the boy had gone missing when he had gone out with his father Anil Pandey, who runs a general store in B-Block, Karawal Nagar.

“When the drain behind Pandey’s store was being cleaned, the cleaner saw the body and called the police,” a senior police officer said. “His father identified him through his clothes.”

The police said the drain has just 1-feet deep water and the boy could not have drowned.

Pandey alleged that his son was murdered and has named a woman who came to his shop the day the boy went missing.

Pandey lives with his wife in E-Block, Karawal Nagar.
