Amritsar, February 5 4 cops beaten up

It was a bad day for policemen. Sarai Amanat Khan SHO Dibagh Singh was mercilessly beaten up allegedly by Buta Singh and his accomplices in Dhotian village, when, he, along with the police team, had gone to arrest him. Buta Singh is wanted in NDPS and attempt to murder cases. When the police arrived, he made them sit in room and later beat them up with the help of his associates.

In a yet another case, three constables, identified as Amrik Singh, Ranjit Singh and Lakha Singh, all posted at Kathunangal police station, were beaten up by unknown persons on Amritsar-Batala road when they were trying to push away a crowed that was blocking the state highway.

The police have registered separate cases and the personnel were undergoing treatment.

The condition of Dilbagh Singh was serious and he has been admitted to a hospital, while other policemen were discharged after treatment.
