“Children were brought to the hospital at around 2 in the afternoon. They were admitted with history of vomiting, giddiness and diplopia. We are still investigating whether the reaction is due to the pulse polio dosage or something else,” said Dr Amit Gadiya, treating doctor at the neo-natal intensive care unit of the hospital.
Four children — Jhanvi Dharji (two-and-a-half years), Archie Gargi (4), Akshay Janjale (6), Manish Parmar (5) — all from Shanti Nagar were administered monovalent vaccine on Tuesday in the extended pulse polio immunization round. “All the kids are stable, they are on IV fluids. We are waiting for blood test reports,” said Dr Gadiya.
