“We arrested Kadri, Saiyed, Sheikh and Sameja after getting some crucial leads during the interrogation of the accused who were arrested earlier,” Joint Commissioner of Police Ashish Bhatia said.

The quartet are likely to be produced before a city court on Friday. Preliminary police investigations revealed that Saiyed was in constant touch with one of the prime accused Qayamuddin, who is absconding. While Saiyed is accused of planting the bombs mounted on cycles in different parts of the city including the Naroda Gam area, the other three are accused of conspiracy.

According to the DCB, Sameja is an active member of SIMI and was in constant touch with Zahid Sheikh and Safdar Nagori. Sameja, who worked as an instructor in a private health club, was involved with SIMI since 2001 and had attended the Halol terror training camp organised by the banned outfit in January 2008 under a fake name. He is accused of collecting money for the blasts by selling a house in Bhuj in 2007.

Kadri, another active SIMI worker, was present during the planning meetings for the serial blasts in Juhapura. He was very close to blast mastermind Mufti Abu Bashir.
