Acting on information received by an inspector of Dabwali police station, a CIA team put up a naka on Sirsa-Dabwali National Highway near Kurian Malkan canal and arrested four persons, all belonging to Madhya Pradesh. As per information provided by the police, the arrested drug peddlers are Rakesh and Suresh, both brothers from Turkian village; Manglesh from Arkian Khas and Gopal and Ranjit from Bordian Kalan. They were arrested along with an Indica car carrying seven kg of opium milk. The drug costs over Rs 60 lakh, a senior police official said.
The arrested drug peddlers picked up the opium milk from Madhya Pradesh to supply in Punjab. “It is a great achievement for the Sirsa Police to nab drug peddlers before they could supply the drugs,” said Superintendent of Police Vikas Arora.
He said this opium milk was being carried in a polythene bag, adding that more arrests were expected in the case. All the arrested accused will be produced in the designated court tomorrow.
