41 provided artifical limbs at camp

Ludhiana To make the state free from any physical disability, 782nd free artificial limbs distribution camp and 12th free polio surgery camp were organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad Charitable Trust, Punjab, a unit of Bharat Vikas Parishad, at Viklang Sahayata Kender, Rishi Nagar on Sunday.

Harjit Singh, Secretary, Social Security and Women and Child Development, was the chief guest on the occasion. Singh went around the Kender, and was impressed by the process of manufacturing of artificial limbs, and training of physically handicapped persons in preparing chalk, candle, paper bag, foot making, book binding, tailoring and embroidery.

He hailed the work being done in the field of polio corrective surgery and computer training being provide to girls and women.

He provided artificial limbs to 41 physically handicapped persons and distributed sweets and fruits to 21 patients afflicted with polio besides giving hearing aids to five patients.

Free medical camp held

Rising Youth Association along with Palam Vihar Welfare Society organised a free medical camp at Central Model School, Palam Vihaar, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana here on Sunday.

Free medicines were given to the patients while ECG and sugar tests were also conducted free-of-cost.

Dr Chetan Sharma, Dr Akashdeep Singh, Dr HS Gill, Dr Ramanbir Singh, Dr Rahul Kohli, Dr Jagdeep Singh, Dr Paramvir Singh and Dr Harpreet Singh from Apollo hospital examined 550 patients at the camp.

The SP, City-2, Gurmeet Singh Randhawa, who was the chief guest at the camp was honoured by RYA.

Vijay Daanav who was recently made the member of the district grievances’ committee by SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal was also honoured by RYA. Amarjit Singh Bhatia and Inspector Prem Singh were also present on the occasion.

RYA President Gurinder Chahal and general secretary Varun Shridhar said that they conducted such medical camp for the needy patients every month.
