42 attend hockey camp under Canadian coach

Ludhiana A three-day intermediary hockey seminar for Punjab coaches concluded today at the Punjab Agricultural University Astroturf Stadium in Ludhiana today.

As many as 42 coaches, including 11 women, attended the seminar conducted by former head coach of Canadian men’s National team ( 1982-86) and former Indian coach Olympian Sukhvir Singh Grewal.

Among those attended the seminar/clinic were out source coaches who have been recently appointed, Punjab Sports Department coaches, Punjab Police coaches and Sports Authority of India coaches.

Jagday had conducted the first 10-day seminar/clinic in June last year at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar. “That was a basic seminar/clinic in June. Now it was advance seminar where various tactics were discussed. After four to five seminars, a refresher course would be conducted” said Sukhvir Grewal.

Coaches who attended the camp: Balbir Singh, Baljinder Singh (Amritsar). Sukhdev Singh Bhullar, Rajwant Singh (Bathinda); Uma Jaggi, Dev Raj, Amarjit Singh, Capt Sital Singh, Simi Minhash (Gurdaspur); Rajinder Kaur, Varinder Singh, Gurdev Singh, Avtar Singh, Sita, Kuldip Singh, Ranjit Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Ashok Kumar, Mohan Singh (Jalandhar); Harpal Bal (Kapurthala); Arunjit Kaur, Susum Parvhina, Yadwinder, Gurtej Singh, Gurdip Singh, Gursatinder Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Vilamjit Singh, Indu Behal (Ludhiana); Amarjit Kaur, Kulwant Singh Pannu,Vijay Kumar Mittal (Moga). Gurdip Singh (Mohali); Suman Bala (Fatehgarh Sahib); Baljit Kaur, Ranhdir Singh (Muktsar); Manjit Singh (Sangrur); Didar Singh, Baljit Kaur and Sharanjit Singh (Tarn Taran).
