432 students awarded at GCG-42 function

Chandigarh, February 27 The annual prize distribution function of GCG-42 was organised on Wednesday. 432 students were awarded for excellence in academics, sports and co-curricular activities.

Thirteen students were awarded the prestigious roll of honour. Manju Rawat, Preetinder, Divya, Manjit, Shilpa, Madhu, Niharka, Shatakshee, Swati, Jyoti and Neha were given awards for their academic performence. Renu and Devinder Kaur were honoured for excellence in sports.

Nearly 33 students were awarded University Merit prizes.

Nearly 203 students were awarded academic prizes for securing top positions in house examination.

Fifty two students were awarded mementos for cultural activities, sports, student council, NCC, NSS etc. Amarjit - Beena Memorial and Baba Kundan Singh Trust Scholarships award was given to 19 students. Shatakshee of B Sc III (Biotech Honours) was declared the best student of the college.

Meanwhile, the Geography Department of GC-11 also organised the annual prize distribution ceremony and farewell function. A number of cultural programmes were staged. The college principal Dr A L Gauba gave away prizes.
