49 more dengue cases pour in

Ludhiana, October 20 As many as 49 confirmed dengue cases were reported from the various hospitals across the city today.

With this, the total number of confirmed dengue cases has swollen up to 1,241. Besides, 284 suspected dengue cases were also reported.

According to the data procured from the different hospitals, 16 confirmed dengue cases were reported from the CMC Hospital, five from the Mohan Dai Oswal Hospital while four cases were reported from the SPS Apollo Hospital. The rest of the cases were reported from other hospitals.

Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) has been admitting nearly 50 to 60 patients every day. The hospital has already registered about 1,300 patients so far. A few hospitals have reportedly stopped admitting symptomatic patients.

Of over 2,000 cases of dengue having been reported in the state, over 1,400 cases are claimed to be from the district alone. The Health department, however, had confirmed 1,144 cases till Saturday.

Three deaths reported in the last couple of days are suspected to be due to the dengue.
