According to the Charkop police, those injured were standing near a tea stall when the accident took place. The car, while taking a reverse turn, crashed into an auto parked in front of the tea stall and a bike parked behind it, and bumped into the five people before coming to halt.
“Three of the five have suffered minor injuries while the other two — identified as Aklu Prasad Gupta (60) and Kikaram Patel (42) — have been admitted to Bhagwati Hospital for medical attention. The driver of the vehicle, Ganesh Kumar Shervi (21), has been arrested and charged with driving in a rash and negligent manner,” said Police Sub Inspector CM Suryavanshi of the Charkop police station.
