A 38-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in the Bindapur area of Southwest Delhi on Monday. The police said Sunita, a resident of Jankipuri in Bindapur, had been married to Virender, a carpenter, for around 15 years now. She could not conceive, because of which her husband got married twice. And this was the reason she took the extreme step. No suicide note was recovered from her possession.

In the second incident, a 28-year-old woman committed suicide after being scolded by her husband for not taking an appointment with a doctor for their child’s vaccination.

The incident was reported from Dabri around 9.15 pm Monday. An SDM-level inquiry has been initiated into the matter.

In Nangloi, one Sumitra was found hanging in her house around 1.30 pm. The police said Sumitra had completed her graduation from Delhi University and had been living with her parents and brother.

“The reason behind the incident is not clear as no suicide note was recovered from her possession,” the police said.

In the fourth incident, a 26-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in Shakurpur, East Delhi, on Monday. “Gaurav Kumar, alias Babloo, the youngest of three brothers, had been living in the school block in the Laxmi Nagar with his mother. His mother had gone out when he committed suicide, the police said. No suicide note was recovered, the police said.

A 32-year-old woman committed suicide at her home in Sultanpuri, Outer Delhi, on Tuesday. “Mamta was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital after she hanged herself from a ceiling fan but the doctors declared her brought dead,” the said police.
