6 children injured in bus-car collision

Kolkata Six students of the National English School, Rajarhat Road, sustained injuries after the pool car they were travelling in overturned after being hit by a private bus on Monday morning. One of the students, Anupam (6), sustained critical injuries and has been admitted in a private nursing home while the other five students were discharged after being administered first aid.

It was around 9.30 am when the car heading towards the school was hit from behind by a private bus on the Pathardanga Road near Jamalpara.

“I was witness to the accident. I could see that the child seated on the rear seat was the worst affected,” said Kamal Hussain, who was returning on his motorcycle after dropping his kid.

According to a senior officer of the Rajarhat police station, Anupam was initially taken to Charnock Hospital from where he was taken to Renaissance Hospital before being finally referred to the Apollo Gleneagles Hospital.
