New Delhi The temperature may have climbed up a few notches since Friday, but Delhiites woke up to another cold and foggy morning on Sunday. The fog was not as dense as the last two days, but chilly conditions prevailed.

The minimum temperature was 8.1 degrees Celsius, one degree Celsius above normal, while the maximum rose to 18 degrees Celsius, which is still 3-4 degrees Celsius below normal for this time of the year.

Met Department officials said it was chilly because of fresh snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, and the rise in temperature since Friday has been due to passing western disturbances. The weatherman said tomorrow the maximum temperature would hover around 20 degrees Celsius, while the minimum would settle around 8 degrees.

Foggy conditions are likely to prevail for the next two days. “Once the western disturbances pass in a few days, the minimum temperature will start dipping again,” an official said.
