“The accused, Tamang Sanda, arrived from Kabul by Kam Air at 2 pm on Friday,” said Sanjay Kumar, additional commissioner, IGI. Since Kabul is a sensitive sector customs officials try to profile each passenger.
“Sanda looked nervous and was giving conflicting answers to our queries. So when we detained him for detailed interrogations, he broke down and revealed he had 84 capsules in his body,” said a senior customs official.
Sanda had gone to Kabul to work as a security guard. He was offered $1,500 for delivering the consignment in Delhi. Sanda told customs officials that some one was supposed to pick him up from Delhi.
