A R Rahman celebrates 46th birthday abroad

New Delhi Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman, who turned 46 today is currently out of the country but has thanked his fans across the world for their good wishes.

In a video link posted on his Twitter page, Rahman has said, "Hi! This is AR and wishing you a very happy 2012. Thank you for all your wishes for my birthday. I won't be in Chennai this time, I am travelling abroad. So thank you for your kind wishes. God bless you all."

Winner of two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards and a number of laurels for his impressive body of work in Indian and international films and music, the composer has a lot to look forward in 2012 too.

He has in his kitty several southern projects like superstar Rajinikanth-Deepika Padukone starrer 'Rana', 'Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru', 'Kochadaiyaan' and 'Pookkadai' as well as an untitled Hindi movie with Yash Chopra.

The musician has more than 100 film sound-tracks to his credit in several languages.

Most recently, he joined forces with Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger on 'SuperHeavy', a supergroup also featuring Joss Stone, Dave Stewart and Damian Marley.

He also composed music for the Mandarin film, 'Warriors of Heaven & Earth'. Rahman's other international film credits include '127 Hours', 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age' with Craig Armstrong and 'Couples Retreat'.
