New Delhi Actor Aamir Khan, who has advocated sweeping electoral reforms and asked political parties to field "young, dynamic and honest" people in elections, says he has no plans to join politics.

"No, no I won't," was his cryptic reply at a function here on being asked whether he was contemplating entering politics.

Post 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, Aamir had said he dreaded to think of how various political parties are now going to try and use this tragedy to further their political careers.

The star had even urged the political leaders to field young, dyanamic, honest, intelligent and upright leaders who actually care for the country.

Khan was speaking through video conference from Bangalore during an awards' function. The star bagged the prize for being the 'Entertainer of the Year' for his films ‘Taare Zameen Par’, ‘Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Naa’ and recent blockbuster ‘Ghajini’.

The actor, who is known for avoiding award functions, seems to have changed his stance recently and has been making some appearances recently.

"I never stopped taking awards but I never got any," he said.

The star agreed with Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss' stance about creating awareness among people about the ill-effects of smoking and drinking but said the government should not to impose a ban on films.

"They can make a 1-minute film explaining the ill-effects of smoking and screen it before the screening of the film. As film stars we are ready to create awareness about it in public," he said.

"But censoring smoking scenes from films is not right because as filmmakers we have to show good things and bad things together," he added.
