The Delhi unit of National Panthers Party has announced that it would deploy its activists at various parts of the capital to provide protection to love birds celebrating the day.

Our activists, trained in Judo Karate and armed with red chillies would be present to teach a befitting lesson to those obstructing or opposing the Valentine Day, its state president Sanjoy Sachdev said.

The party has also issued a 'beat on sight' order against anyone who is found harassing couples and stopping them from celebrating the festival of love.

It has also set up a control room with a helpline number -- 09313784375 -- in which one can call for assistance. To help such complainants, several mobile teams have been deployed in the city, Sachdev said.

Similarly, Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal has also taken a tough stand against the moral policing by outfits like Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal in the city.

"We will take very strict action against people who are involved in it. No such activities are tolerable in Delhi and these we cannot accept," the top cop assured during a press conference recently.

He said all those celebrating the event within the limits of the law will not let be harassed or troubled either by any group or the police.

"We are not moral police. We will only take action against those indulged in acts of outrageous nature," he said.

Upholding the spirit of providing a security for the couples, Central government has also made it clear that it would not allow anyone to cause trouble on the day.

The government has already alerted the states to keep special vigil on trouble makers so that the occasion passes off peacefully.

With such assurances pouring in, couples, so far freaking due to anticipated disturbance from right-wing organizations, are now looking forward to peacefully spent some time with their beloveds.

"The fear of disturbance of public embarrassment looms large on mind every year during the Valentine's Day. But this time it seems we will be able to celebrate it without fear," said Rahul Mishra, a PR executive.

Not only the bachelors, married couples have also hailed these promises, hoping for a ‘safe’ and incident-free outings on February 14.
