New Delhi, November 8: NDA's Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani on Saturday turned 81 and the occasion was used for the launch of his website and the BJP stalwart hoped to do an Obama seizing the US President-elect's campaign for change.

In his web portal www.lkadvani.com, the former Deputy Prime Minister greeted the netizens with a slogan 'The nation is poised for a change'.

The portal, launched by former Jammu and Kashmir Governor General (retd) S K Sinha, greets the visitor with a call to ‘make the 21st century, India's century’.

"We are one nation. We are one people and our time for change has come," said Obama after his historic victory.

The saffron party claimed that the portal with features like interactive forums, videos, photo albums, campaign trails and many other facilities was the biggest political website of the country.

"I am sure that this initiative would bring good results as it has brought good results for Obama," Sinha said after the launch at the party headquarters in New Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, party Chief Rajnath Singh said that the initiative for an internet-based campaign was a clear sign of the forward looking instincts of BJP.

"Initiative like this clearly makes our party a forward looking and innovative party and Advaniji is rightly called the pioneer of novelties in BJP. He has the ability to adopt to newer systems" Singh said.

Advani said that with an estimate suggesting that 10 crore first time voters would be in the electrorate for the next general elections he was sure that the party would be able to reach to that mass through the web, he added.

Political speech by Ravi on 13 Mar 2009

Dear Advani Ji,I am very much younger to you but I have a small advice to you. When you first came to power the BJP contenders did not criticise any politicians. This time I would say you have to send a message to our country men as how much you love your country and how far you can take it forward with details of work done during your regime and how you would continue to take it forward. Please do not criticise others. The criticism should be left to the people to decide. I am aware that many parties ways with you but honesty will prevail. I shall suggest that you can go across Obama speech and understand how he loves his country and his countrymen and how he wants to build a nation correcting all failures and taking the nation in a positive and foolproof direction.Kindly excuse for my advice.ThanksRavi

LKAdvani web site by DPKarkara on 14 Feb 2009

At present Advani Ji is by far the best choice for the office of Prime Minister. It is a different point whether he can lead the BJP to victory in the coming election if the party leaders continue to be lethargic and try to depend upon electronic media to reach the common voter. They have to reach the common voter through personal contact and speak to him in his own language which he can understand and has to dispel the misgivings which the other parties have sown in his mind. Congress and all other parties know that once the BJP can show its true face of a nationist party which it certainly is and remove the impression of having only Hindutava agenda it will sweep the polls. It has to show to the HIndu that it stands for their rights and aspirations subject to the condition that the minorities do not feel that any of their legitimate right will be hurt. Minorities have also to be given all help and encouragement to enjoy and contribute to the welfare of the nation.

e-media,how it must be used. by Lt.Col.BNS Tyagi(Retd.) on 24 Nov 2008

Dear Sir,It is the very good idea to have own web site. Now the BJP must use it to the advantage to the AAM AADMI.Open it for dicussion on present economic mess created by the congress. AAM AADMI can only be benefitted from it, if day today BJP's happening are posted on it and AAM AADMI is asked to post his views, so that people remain updated. The most important thing would be that you start planning to post BJP's election Menifesto on this web site, as also hiring e-media to propogate and discuss the BJP's manifesto as and when released.WITH REGARDS,Lt.Col.BNS Tyagi(Retd.)24.11.08;10.30AM

Advani Do India Just one Favour - Leave us Alone by Violeti on 11 Nov 2008

As a true Indian my feeling is that any Outfit that is based on a caste, religion, sect will not bring change. India is a Sovereign Democratic Republic Country

BJP like defeated Rebulican Party by Bhatia on 10 Nov 2008

BJP is like the defeated republican party, which tried to play the race card. They played to the evangelical christian right and all minorities including hispanics, blacks, Asians and even moderate Whites, voted against them. Americans voted for unity and progrss, not deviciveness. Lesson BJP can learn.

Do the country a favor, RETIRE by Charanjit on 10 Nov 2008

Hey Dude! Just retire and and let your grandson make a pitch for new leadership. The people will then decide if he is can get their trust like Obama. I voted for him, thinking if Obama can become president then an India American kid can dream of it also.

BJP is backwards thinking by c singh on 10 Nov 2008

Obama ran on message of unity, bi-partisanship and inclusive policy. LK Advani/BJP is just the opposite. They are devisive and trying to take the country back, not forward.

Mr Advani's campain by Ganesh on 09 Nov 2008

At this age it is better for India if Mr Advani leads a peaceful retired life, giving young economists and lawyers to lead the country.

Retirement by mohammad on 07 Feb 2009

Yes mite you are right, it would better for Advaniji to retire from Indian politics and guide the young politicians.

LK Advani and his website by Sunil N. Patankar on 09 Nov 2008

LK Advani's website is incomplete like his work. He has not fulfilled the promise he made to the people before the election that brought his party in power.

Advani Website by Ajith Kumar on 09 Nov 2008

At 81 what does he think the youth in this country look at him for? Another Masjid demolition? Another Rath-yatra? We know the old crow very well. What change is he talking about?

Advani Politics by hvmittal on 09 Nov 2008

Best wishes to Mr. Advani on his Birthday. However, I am unable to endorse his politics. Unlike Obama's campaign for CHANGE which seeks unity, Advani's is based on divisive politics.

advani stunt by Dr. K. S. Rehman on 09 Nov 2008

No comparison between Obama and Advani, but with McCain ( even age wise ) , and he knows the result. By the way even S. K. Sinha should be investigated by ATS for his links to Hindu Terrorists, all by products of saffronisation of Police, Army and Administration.

BJP and Prime Ministership by Niranjan on 09 Nov 2008

Are there no young and energetic members of BJP party who can be projected as PM that they have to rely on an 81 year old for the prime post? Does he believe that as young people voted for Obama, old people will vote for him? This shows that we in india are so poor in our leadership that we cannot let go of the old and has been people and refuse to look at the new, young and energetic blood with new ideas!

Advan[s 81 by Raja on 09 Nov 2008

Mr. Advani,You are too old and senile. Be at peace by retiring and away from politics. Become a social worker to help the needy. You have done enough damage to the nation and to the party. Your brand of Hindutva does not represent the peace loving, all relegion accepting Hindu way of life as preached by Swami Vivekananda. Old people like you must get out to make way for the young and energetic. Happy 81st.

Retire, Advaniji by Jagirdar on 09 Nov 2008

I think it is high time that our party heads yield gracefully to the younger lot and retire. At 81, holding a dream to lead the nation with antiquated ideas is a bit too much. It is high time leaders such as Advani realize this. Advaniji, we respect you, and will continue to respect you, will respect you even more if you let the younger leaders to lead the party. Look at the US.

Change by sandeep on 09 Nov 2008

Please!!!!!!!- Obama and Advani are poles apart. One conducted his campaign with dignity- the other is a ethonocentric nationalist who petty interests in mind. The change India needs is righteous leaders who understand what it means to love their neighbor.

Copycat by American on 09 Nov 2008

Thats whay we call 'Copycat'

Advani, 81. Obama, 43. by Prateek Awasthi on 09 Nov 2008

This absurd! Someone who has been a part of our sleazy politics for more than 50 years now says that he will bring "change"? Hasn't Advaniji read or seen anything about the US Presidential elections to know that he is more like McCain (and even older than McCain). It is time for Advaniji and all the other older politicians to gracefully retire and let the youth of the country take our destiny in our own hands.

New Website of Shri LK Advaniji by Rakesh Kumar on 09 Nov 2008

LkAdvani ji's website by Sanjeev Guglani on 09 Nov 2008

This is a very good development and everyone in India also wants a change. Average Indian is sick of the free movement of terrorists who can attack anywhere anytime and Congress Government is not doing anything effective to control this. BJP can reach out to the young generation through internet. This can prove to be the most effective tool to garner support from urban Indians who are otherwise politically inactive. But why LKADVANI.com??? I think everyone is eager to see NARENDRAMODI.COM. So my request to Advani ji is to RISE ABOVE THE LUST OF PRIMEMINISTERSHIP AND IF HE REALLY WANTS TO BE KNOWN AS MODERN DAY SARDAR PATEL, THEN HE SHOULD BE THE FIRST PERSON TO PROMOTE SHRI MODI JI AS BJP'S PRIME MINISTER CANDIDATE. This is a promise for real change. Otherwise BJP again would be the largest parliamentary party, but sitting in the opposition, licking its wounds as a POLITICAL UNTOUCHABLE FUNDAMENTALIST PARTY as was declared four years earlier by left front and other parties.
