Ahmedabad, August 05 The Ahmedabad City Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) are matching the sketches of the blast suspects obtained from their counterparts in Rajasthan. The serial blasts on July 26 had killed more than 50 people and injured around 200.

Joint Commissioner of Police H P Singh said, “We have tied-up with the Rajasthan Police and they have provided seven sketches of the suspects who could be involved in planting the bicycles carrying the bombs in the recent Jaipur blasts”.

He added: “The Rajasthan Police have prepared the sketches on the basis of the eyewitness accounts. So, it might be useful to us in the investigation if any one of them is involved in the Ahmedabad blasts.”

However, the police have not yet released the sketches of bomb blast conspirators. The DCB officials have reportedly prepared three sketches of possible suspects who could have planted the bombs in Ahmedabad.

“We are not releasing the photos because that may alert the accused involved in the terror act. So, we’ll first exhaust our options to trace them and then only release the sketches to get leads in the case,” Singh said.

“The sketches will be studied by our experts and if needed, might be shown to the eyewitnesses,” said a police officer who is part of the serial blasts investigating team.

The DCB officials are also trying to trace the persons who could have bought the gas cylinders, which were planted at the blast sites at LG Hospital and the Civil Hospital.

“The cylinders are available on rent and this applies to the empty ones as well. So, we are trying to trace the roots of the cylinders which were used in the blasts,” said a police official.
