Mumbai, January 30 All rounders Pranav Pedamkar and Akash Parkar were the heroes for IES Sule Guruji against Springfield Rizvi on the second day of the four-day MSSA Giles Shield (Elite Division) final played at Elf ground, Oval Maidan, here on Wednesday.

After Rizvi were bowled out for 253, Sule Guruji replied strongly with 182 for three with Akash and Soham Khanolkar going strongly on 62 (4 x10) and 45 respectively.

Earlier, Rizvi, who were 217 for seven overnight, lost their skipper Alpesh Ramjani, who could add just eight runs to his yesterday’s score of 105.

Alpesh was out legbefore to medium pacer Pranav Pedamkar, while Akash Parkar wrapped up the tail. Pranav had four for 35, and Akash ended with three for 82.

Sule Guruji openers Vignesh Gawande and Pranav Pedamkar put on 50 runs before Vignesh was consumed by leftarm spinner Aditya Dhumal, who bowled 20 overs to claim all the three wickets that fell in Sule Guruji’s innings.

After getting rid of Vignesh, Aditya had Pranav legbefore and then clean bowled Parikshit Valsankar. But thereafter Soham and Akash joined hands and batted without undue haste as the pair added 91 runs for the unfinished fourth wicket.

Brief Scores: Springfield Rizvi 253 (Alpesh Ramjani 113, Prithvi Kakar 30, Vikas Singh 24; Pranav Pedamkar 4 for 35, Akash Parkar 3 for 82) vs IES Sane Guruji 182 for 3 (Pranav Pedamkar 44, Soham Khanolkar batting 45, Akash Parkar batting 62; Aditya Dhumal 3 for 56.)
