Mumbai Actress Ameesha Patel, who is looking to resurrect her acting career will be seen in a new avatar, performing item numbers at the Apsara Awards ceremony.

The 36-year-old has undergone a makeover and is now sporting a lean and sexy look. She will be grooving to a host of popular songs including 'Chikni Chameli' 'Ooh La La' and 'Madhubala' at the upcoming function.

Best known for her performances in 'Gadar' and 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai', the actress went through a dull phase thereafter and has found a way of salvaging her reputation by featuring in her own films.

She has started her own production company, under which two films, directed by David Dhawan and Priyadarshan will be made. Her last release 'Chatur Singh Two Star' was a box office dud. However, she has Abbas-Mustan's 'Race 2', 'Bhaiyyaji Superhit' with Sunny Deol and 'Shortcut Romeo' with Neil Nitin Mukesh in her kitty.
