Vijayawada The Andhra Pradesh government had no role whatsoever in the massive accounting fraud at Satyam Computer, Finance Minister K Roasaih has said.

"The State government has nothing to do with the Satyam Computer issue. The Centre was looking into the issue," he told reporters in Hyderabad on Friday evening.

The minister was responding to Opposition parties' charge that the Congress government was involved in the scandal at the Hyderabad-based software firm.

"Instead of giving suggestions how to revive Satyam Computer and protect the interest of its 53,000 employees, Opposition parties were making baseless allegations against the government," Roasaih said.

The '108' emergency services in the state, currently maintained by EMRI Satyam Group Trust, would not be affected in the wake of the financial fraud, he said.

Many philanthropists and organisations are coming forward to support and run the emergency services (which can be availed by dialing 108), the minister said.

AP Govt's Role by J.Narasimha Rao on 11 Jan 2009

If the AP Govt has no role why is it trying to shield Raju from SEBI enquiry? Newspapers have been screaming in headlines about the blatant corruption and SEZ acquisitions. No action or reaction or cases of defamation. People know for sure the hollowness and selfishness of the welfare schemes. Rice for Rs.2/- a kilo? You acquire it for 2/- and sell it for 20/-. An audit or enquiry into the distribution might reveal a lot.

YSR is the devil that lured RAJU Into this by Raj on 11 Jan 2009

This is the government, which was responsible for luring the RAJU from (SATYAM-Truth) IT business to Land Business (Opposite of SATYAM-Truth, MAYTAS). They had virtually thrown freebies (donating 300 crores worth of land for 1 Crore), and allotting more 12500 crores of irrigation projects for the company that has no proven experience in the projects of this scale. And more than 1000 crores worth of projects were allotted without tenders.THIS IS THE HARDCORE TRUTH THAT CONG (YSR) GOVT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DOWNFALL OF RAJU AND SATYAM.
