Arms dealer Suresh Nanda sent to custody

Mumbai, March 9: Arms dealer Suresh Nanda, his son and two others were sent on a transit remand to Delhi by a court here for allegedly entering into a conspiracy to "favour" the businessman.

The CBI produced them before Additional Sessions Judge C H Mali and asked for their transit remand to the national capital where the agency would seek their custodial remand for questioning.

The entire conduct of accused persons is "suspicious" and points out that they were entering into a conspiracy to "favour" Suresh Nanda, the court said in its order while directing the CBI to produce the four before a designated court in Delhi within 48 hours.

The counsel for chartered accountant Bipin Shah argued before the court that he was only a professional and had never engaged in any tax evasion.

Deputy Director of Income Tax Ashutosh Verma took the plea that he had prepared a report which was against the interest of Nandas. However, he could not justify his presence at a hotel room here along with the arms dealer last night when the four were arrested.

Surprisingly, the lawyer of Nanda made no argument before the court.

What a wishful thinking that congress party will meet its waterloo in the next prliamentary elections.! It is futile to cast aspersions on congress President Sonia Gandhi, as well as make wild predictions about the next general elections due in 2009. Let the time come and the reults will be there for all to see.

The aim, seems to be to tarnish the NDA's image for the coming national elections.Earlier,under the US pressure the Italian Woman had threatened to open the "corruption files ",of those who opposed the DEAD and ABORTED deal(as per www.indiadaily.com). But India will not forget and forgive the Foreign woman Spy,Bofors,Quatrocchchi,the recent betrayal of our beloved nation to the USA etc etc. The Congress party is going to meet its Waterloo in the coming national Elections to be routed.

Justice at last. Serves him right. It will put others on notice. Investigations should be carried to their logical conclusion. The guilty must be prosecuted. Corruption has eaten into the vitals of this country.
