Meanwhile, the PTU authorities are now homing on the relatives of the expelled employees who have also been working at university, so as to post them in other departments.
The committee has been formed under the chairmanship of principal-cum-director, C.L. Kochher, of DAVIET College, Jalandhar, while Dean, Distance Education, PTU, R.P. Singh would be a member of the panel. It will investigate the loopholes in the examination system which led to the racket and also suggest how such loopholes could be plugged.
When contacted, PTU Registrar Sarojini Gautam Sharda said that they were identifying the employees whose relatives work in the same department to prevent any racket in future. Apart from the arrested employees, the relatives of other employees are also being identified to segregate them also.
It is learnt that that among the 95 ad hoc appointments in PTU made illegally a long ago, a number of them were related.
The police had had recovered answer-sheets, award-sheets and stamps from the possession of the four PTU employees. All four of them were daily wagers and were working as attendants. They used to charge Rs 5,000 to 7,000 per paper from students to get them cleared in the final examination.
