New Delhi, July 2: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday questioned former Noida police officer K K Gautam to know more about the spot where Talwar household help Hemraj’s body was found on May 17.

Gautam, who claimed to have led the police to the terrace where Hemraj’s body lay after spotting bloodstains on the stairs, was called to the probe agency’s headquarters on Lodhi Road.

According to CBI officials, Gautam was questioned for a few hours to know more about the crime spot since investigators are now linking the chain of events at the time of murder on the basis of disclosures made by suspects Rajkumar and Krishna.

Sources said the CBI’s investigators are “not much aware” till date about the direction in which Hemraj’s body was found. They also quizzed Gautam about the position of hands, legs, and face, sources said.

The CBI sleuths had earlier questioned Gautam on June 4, three days after the agency took over the case from Noida police.

Gautam, according to initial reports had smelled foul when he went to the Talwar residence on May 16 to condole Arushi’s death. He apparently followed bloodstains on the stairs leading to the terrace and had the Sector 20 SHO break open the door to the terrace after the Talwar family said they had misplaced the keys.

Nupur and Rajesh Talwar had, however, reportedly told the CBI investigators during their interrogation that they had spotted Hemraj’s body, while Noida police on their part had claimed their officials found it first.

According to initial reports, Talwars had left for Hardwar the day Gautam purportedly found Hemraj’s body; they returned later to identify the help, held initially to be the killer.

KK Gautam is epitome of corruption by Ajay Sirohi on 02 Jul 2008

I fully agree with another posting about KK Gautam. This police officer is one of the highly corrupt officer during his service time. It is a shame that TV channels have invited him to be a part of the panel discussion on this murder cae.Even though one can take refuge in the statement that a person is innocent unless proven guilty, but the fact remains that a corrupt police officer is known for his corruption easily in the society.TV channels should be ashamed of inviting him for discussions. Irrespective of his corruption having nothing to do with this dual-murder case, instead of this man being boycotted by society, TV channels have done a disservice to the society by making him an expert analyst.

K K Gautam by Dehradun Guy on 02 Jul 2008

Well, I am pretty sure about one thing. This K. K. Gautam is one of the most corrupt police officer. He was posted in Dehradun during 1993 period. He is an exbhitionist and used to parade with guns in Dehradun market. Actually he is a criminal in police disguise. So if he is involved in the case, don't expect truth or fair enquiry at least

Police Investigation by Munnabhai on 02 Jul 2008

It is a wonder why police did not take photographs at the site of the crime. The UP Police seem to consist of morons.
