Sydney, March 9: Cricket Australia (CA) have lodged a formal complaint with the Indian cricket board over comments made by Harbhajan Singh about Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist.

CA chief executive has asked the Indian board to take action against Harbhajan after he called Hayden a liar and said Gilchrist was ‘no saint’.

"Enough is enough," Sutherland wrote in a letter to the board, published in Sydney's Sun Herald newspaper.

"Despite assurances that you have instructed him not to fuel this issue any more, Harbhajan continues to say whatever he wants.

"When will it ever end? Could you please deal with your player in regard to these comments."

Harbhajan was involved in several disputes with the Australian players during their recent tour.

Relations between the teams deteriorated to such a point that the Indians briefly suspended the tour and the International Cricket Council appointed a mediator to broker a peace deal.

Harbhajan was originally banned for three matches for making racist comments about Andrew Symonds during the second test but the suspension was overturned on appeal when the charge was downgraded to a lesser offence.

Both teams were warned about their behaviour but the tension remained. CA reprimanded Hayden after he called Harbhajan an ‘obnoxious weed’ during the one-day series.

cry? by waxer on 12 Mar 2008

Australia hold every single major cup from around the world. There is not one test playing nation who holds a cup thet is decided between Australia and themselves. When India can say the same, then and only then will we cry, until then- get your tissues and sob about your teams inability to show consistency, get ready to sob even more when Sachin retires- think about what pitiful scores your team would have posted without him!

India not good enough by Brian on 10 Mar 2008

Australia won the series so who cares, 11 games total, 4 wins to India, 5 wins to Australia, 1 draw, 1 no result, test series Australia wins, 20/20 Australia wins, ODI's India wins, all up Australia on top as usual.

aussi's crying by krishna trivedi on 10 Mar 2008

all these years CA players have been sledging and abusing players on field, remember macgrah to sarvan, fleming, steve waugh himself. when complaints were lodged ca said the mental makeup of aussies is aggressive. does that mean when aussie's do its ok and when indians do its against the spirit of the game.icc has to be fair, dock hayden and symonds first then bajji. since when retaliating has to be punished and not the provoker???

Bhajji by VVH on 10 Mar 2008

If Heydon can be leleased with warning for uttering those words against Bahjii then Bhajji does not deserve any punishment or evn warning for calling Heyden a lier.

Weeds by Indi on 10 Mar 2008

Bhajji is wrong. Hayden is not only a liar but a big obnoxious poisonous weed on cricket field and a rowdy cricketer just like symonds. Aussies are still licking there wounds after they lost to young Indian side. They cannot hold there frustration. CA would be advised to includer players like lee, hussey who are bit sensible than there rowdy counterparts and there leader.

Aussie Comlaints by Manisha on 10 Mar 2008

It was James Sutherland when someone asked him about bad Aussie player behaviour, who replied that it is a test match, and not a tiddywinkle. This ugly sounding word has become their catch phrase whenever they do not have a legitimate defence, and use it justify their garbage vulgarity. About the racist remarks by the spectators, he said racism is in the eyes of the beholder. Now this same guy whigning about Harbhajan rightly calling Hayden a “big liar”. Hayden, Ponting, and Clarke did lie a big time to the Judge Hansen, who noticed that it was surprising they seemed to remember that Harbhajan used ‘monkey’ word against Symonds, but had no recollection of what else was said between Harbhajan and Symonds. In deciding the punishment, the judge also took into account the provocation by Symonds in the form of choice vulgar words against Harbhajan. It amazes me how much they are making out of the ALLEGED, but unproven monkey remark by Harbhajan, who has actually confessed to using foul term against Symonds in retaliation. Nobody made that big a fuss when Darrell Lehman who is now FCA president, who used vulgar AND racist term against Sri Lankans after being given out correctly by the umpires. He was only lightly punished. The second case of David Hooks, a former Aussie test player, who called that South African woman who claimed to be involved with Shane Warne a ‘back haired sheila’, and then he later defended himself by saying that this is what Australians say about South Africans. Nobody make any noise about that word, ‘back haired sheila’ that time. Even now they regularly use the word ‘pommies’ for English players, which is actually racist. ‘Pommies’ means those whose skin becomes red like a pomegranate in the heat of the sun. Incidentally David Hooks then later on verbally and physically abused a bouncer of a bar in Melbourne, and after the bouncer hit him back, he died a tragic death soon afterwards. The bouncer was acquitted of any charges, but he still kept receiving threats form the public, and he had to move to a different place. As usual almost everybody in the Australian cricket fraternity defended him. He did not deserve what happened to him, but he was in trouble many times before too. Another thing that is amazing is that Aussies seem to believe and try to ram down the throats of others that it is not a big deal if they use four letter word and other vulgarities. It is ok for them to use all the gutter words, make demeaning remarks against opposition players’ wives, and sisters, etc. So they are making a determination and saying look, this gutter is ok, but that gutter is horrible! I can throw mud on you from this gutter, and you have to use the same gutter as I do! With Aussies it is like let’s play gutter-gutter! They are the pioneers in promoting this gutter brand of cricket!

sportsmanship by djsngo on 10 Mar 2008

i thonk we are losing sight of the real reason for playing games.when playing promotes anger, jingoism and enemity, it is time to bid adieu to such sports and sportsmen. we have armies to fight wars and we definitely dont need uncouth australians and indians bad mouthing each other

Harbjhajan by Avinash on 10 Mar 2008

The whole vicous cycle started with the false racism charge against Harbhajan, who was verbally abused by that idiot Symonds, and he abused him back partly in his language. That stupid refree Mike Proctor without any concrete prrof declared that he was convinced 'beyond reasonable doubt' that Harbhajan called Symonds a monkey! His basis of proof was the words of those ugly Aussie bullies, who on cross examination proved to be dubious witnesses by the judge Hansen. Mike Proctor should be given a kick in his backside and dismissed for his too many bludnders. Secondly, Harbhajan was racially taunted by the crowd, and CA should be taken to task for notdoing anything to protect him. BCCI in fact should lodge complaint with ICC against CA for their inaction.

Cry Babies! by Sambar Swamy on 10 Mar 2008

I am NOT sure why Australia is still crying. I repeat this Australia has no locus standi to talk about this forget about complaining...c

ENOUGH of TALK! by ravi on 10 Mar 2008

STOP the non-stop BS!! Please! Harbhajan - stop behaving like the aussies! we have had enough of this crap between india and australia. Indian players need to behave like Sachin and Dhoni - make their performance talk on the field and people will give you respect. Let's keep cricket a gentleman's game and not a talk-show.

Get a life by Notateamindiafan on 09 Mar 2008

No doubt the BCCI will continue to treat CA with contempt. We don't want any more of your "culture".Your hearts must swell with pride at the thought of having a racist as a national hero.

Cricket, a game of gentlemen by P.P. TALWAR on 09 Mar 2008

It is a pity that cricket known as the game of gentlemen is being brought down to such a disgraceful and humiliating level that the hidden enemity, anger and hatred is being spewn against each other by the Australins and the Team India. Not to prolong this issue any further and to leave good taste in the mouth, let BCCI and CA both patch up this issue by issuing written warning to cricketers involved in this fued.

CA demanding action against Bhajji by JKS on 09 Mar 2008

CA is bunch of jokers...They did not take any action other than token reprimand to Hyden when their own players were throwing venom on Indians. Now they want BCCI to take action against one of its players when the player is denying the media reports published Aussie media that he has said something about the aussies. This double talk and stupid logic of aussies should stop or they will lose whatever little prestige they are left with.
