Australian education fair held in city

Chandigarh, February 11 An Australian Education Fair was organised by Kangaroo Studies Pvt Ltd, one of the authorised representatives for Australian institutions, at Hotel Mountview on Monday. Nearly 18 institutions such as University of Western Australia, University of Adelaide, Deakin University, La Trobe University, Murdoch University, James Cook University and RMIT University participated in the fair.

Gulshan Kumar, Director of Kangaroo Studies said, “We assess the students before sending them for a course to Australia. We also aid the students in getting academic scholarships.”

He said that admissions were open for all major courses in Science, Management and Humanities in various Australian universities. Visa procurement normally takes 8-12 weeks, he said.

Ashish, a student of B Sc from DAV College, Sector 10 had plans to enroll in a nursing course at an Australian university. He said, “I expected to find the listings of universities like the University of Queensland and Central Queensland University. However, none of these universities were represented,” he said.

Mona Mallik, an RMIT University representative said, “The standards of Masters courses abroad is very high and involve a great deal of laboratory exposure”. She added that scholarships depended on the individual’s academic performance in the Australian university courses.
