Mumbai, January 2 Skipper Vikrant Auti’s fine all-round display virtually put Shardashram (English) in a very strong position against IES New English (Bandra) on the second day of the second round of the MSSA-NIKE Giles Shield (Elite Division) inter-school cricket tournament, co-sponsored by Saran Sports and played at Cross Maidan, on Wednesday.

Auti, who was on 113 overnight, compiled 164 with 19 fours as Shardashram declared their innings at 329 for five. In reply, IES English (Bandra) collapsed for just 100, with Auti returning with figures of nine for 17.

Rizvi Springfield’s left-arm-spinner Aditya Dhumal continues to be in limelight as he added three more wicket to his five-wicket haul on the first day. This effort saw Parle Tilak being shot out for 75 in their second knock. Rizvi, needing 139 to win, were 103 for 4 at close.
