Mumbai, January 24 Fine batting performances by Tarang Chheda (105), Arjun Bhatt (96) and Pinak Batavia (85) saw BAK Swadhyay clinch the boy’s under-14 plate division Giles Shield title. On Thursday, they defeated St. Mary’s by virtue of the first innings lead and have been promoted in the Elite group.

The other team who won their group finals were Swami Vivekanand, Kandivali and Balmohan Vidyamandir. Swami Vivekanand defeated Shailendra Education Society also on the first innings, while Balmohan thrashed Parle Tilak, Marathi by 148 runs.

Earlier, with St. Mary’s being bundled out for a paltry 159 in the first innings, the BAK side saw some decent batting. Opener Tarang and one-drop Arjun made sure that their team romped home with a comfortable first innings lead.
