Bhopal, October 4: The condition of BJP Member of Parliament Virendra Kumar Khatik, who was beaten up allegedly by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, is stable and he is out of danger, doctors said on Saturday.

The MP from Sagar was beaten up on Friday during an anti-encroachment drive near Bina railway station. He was hit by RPF personnel while protesting against the removal of encroachments from Chhoti Bajaria area, police had said.

Khatik, who suffered injuries on his head, back and a finger, was admitted to the city-based Hamidia Hospital. The MP was out of danger and has been advised complete rest, Dr D K Verma said.

Verma said there were ten stitches on Khatik's head. Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police S K Raut has asked Railway IG Mohan Rao to conduct an inquiry into the incident and submit a report within three days.

Raut, who visited the hospital to inquire about the lawmaker's condition, said action would be taken in the case once the probe report is submitted.

Beating of MP by raolway police by Deepak Ghanvatkar on 04 Oct 2008

Sir, If this is what the police can do to a MP then imagine what will be the condition of the citizen if the tough laws are brought and police are delegated the un-controlled powers?

Congratulations Police/RPF by jay on 04 Oct 2008

This is among very few good jobs our police have done. ANY politician or bureaucrat who supports encroachment deserves the same treatment. BJP must be careful to keep such mafia style leaders as their MPs. Now I am a bit scared about the law enforcement personnel who did the right thing. Naturally, they will be victimized for doing their duties.

Well Done by AYush on 04 Oct 2008

I respect the police. Well deserved treatment for the corrupt and unwise politicians.I wonder if the police has courage to do this most of the time. All the best Cops.I love u

If it is other one by ilarum on 27 Jun 2009

If the same treatment meted out to any cong. M.P. what are the repurcussions?

Brilliant by P Dalvi on 04 Oct 2008

I think these policemen should be rewarded. MPs are scum of the earth anyway, and finally, one of them gets a proper treatment. If only the likes of Mamta, Modi, Uma, Mayawati would also get thrashed...Anyway - if I meet these policemen, I'll buy them all a beer or two

politicos getting thrashed by sri on 11 Mar 2010

pls add sonia, manmohan, lalu, mulayam and chidambram to the list... these politicians too desreve it

Is this good governance by UPA? by Bharat on 04 Oct 2008

The common Indian people are being killed by terrorists but noe the UPA government has unleashed police forces to intimidate people that does not spare even their elected representatives. This is shameful and UPA government is forcing India from within to head towards chaos. This will bring new form of colonisation back to India - again enslaved in 21st century. The UPA government should own moral responsibilty and call for immediate elections after resigning. It has no moral authority to continue in power.

Good deeds by Alan on 04 Oct 2008

It is real fun to see such things happen. It really make me happy to see that the politicians are getting what they deserve.

Hi by Kaushik on 04 Oct 2008

Hmm - I would not support BJP when it comes to defending wrongs like encroaching.

MP BEATEN UP by A.Q.M.Amin on 04 Oct 2008

If this can happen to the a member of parliament, what would have been the position of innocentpeople caught in the communal riots, activelly supported by the politicians and passively and passively supervised by by the police in the biggest indian masscre of Gujarat 2002

Surely we can do better than this... by Anon on 04 Oct 2008
