Caught in a vicious turf-war among second-rung leaders, the BJP rallied behind its leaders, with party president Rajnath Singh questioning the delay in the completion of the report, and senior leaders including Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj meeting Advani through the day.
“Our leaders, accused in the demolition of the disputed structure, co-operated fully with the Commission,” said Rajnath. Added party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad: “All prominent BJP leaders summoned by the Commission deposed before it. As the deputy prime minister, L K Advani also appeared before the Commission for several rounds of cross-examination over a period of more than a week... BJP leaders tried to prevent the demolition of the structure.”
The BJP spokesperson said his party “now expected the report to be tabled in Parliament” but it was for the government to “decide whether to table it in Parliament or go for any other (form of) public debate”.
Prasad also reiterated his party’s commitment to a temple in Ayodhya. “There’s a widespread sentiment that a grand temple be built in Ayodhya and that alone is the solution to this (imbroglio). Dialogue is preferable (to arrive at a mutually agreeable solution to the problem),” he said.
“The Congress is hatching a conspiracy even when the contents of the report have not been made public. Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh has levelled certain charges (against Advani) which are condemnable,” he added.
Advani, meanwhile, is learnt to have discussed the developments with senior leaders Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj. He also met party leaders from both the Houses in a meeting which was, however, described by deputy leader in Rajya Sabha S S Ahluwalia as a “preparatory meeting for the coming Budget Session”. Ahluwalia said the Liberhan report was not discussed at the meeting.

The demolition of Babri Masjid, if it had been done with the help of bulldozers without any backlash, without death and misery to innocent minorities, without blood shed, tears and devastation, it is not such a big issue. After all God Almighty does not stay within a walled structure. Lord of the worlds is capable of manifesting Himself in many ways. Dirty politics is the saddest part of it. 23% of 700 million voters vote for a Nazi principled based political party and put it in power. (Is it not a crazy democracy? Those 77% majority opposition votes had no respect, and a fanatical minority party come home to roost) They won the election by the stupid reason that they were able to demolish a minority’s place of worship, a frivolous reason. In 2013 I hope BJP start a yatra and DEMOLISH TAJMAHAL and come back to power. Eventually Muslims get another enquiry commission( releasing the report in 2040) which is a way to fool them with false sympathy. Fanatics thrive on hypocrisy. SAD
They destroyed the structure despite the Supreme Court's ruling, and now they want a temple built there? I'd be surprised if that temple lasted for a night.
I understand Muslim rulers destroyed many temples and I have seen many temples in Karnataka disfigured also. Since no action is taken on them here also better not to waste time, energy, and create conflicts. B S GANESH, BANGALORE
Let the people discuss the Report. There should be discussion also on what should be built at Ayodhya, whether Ram Mandir or the Babari mosque. To arrive at a solution, we must take into account, the last words of Mahatma Gandhi. We should also consider whether we wish to have "Ramrajya" or Babar's Mughal rule in India, in which Hindus had to pay Jiziya tax or convert to Islam. If we wish to have "Ramrajya", we must also try to look into the hidden deposits in the Swiss banks and hang on lamp posts all those who cannot explain their deposits disproportinate to their known sources of income.
Dear all,In last six decades ,Congresses have put their sympathisers, sychophants and die hard family loyalists, in all sectors of governance."Sham, dam and Dand".They divided India with help of British , in name of democracy, ruled India as an single, autocratic party, never liked or respected opposition and also named them as traitors, put them behind bar etc.I feel, Old janata party and BJP behaved as a naive political power when the had chance to score points against congress.Congress will make all efforts to appease minorities, may build masjid at Aayodhya site that people of India want it!(congresees).and may put tablet that "nehru" family is so great to sacrifice Hindus!!
These BJP persons destroyed a historical structure of 500 years. They have planted the poison tree of communalism in the soil of India. They have misguided people so nowadays many communal persons are sending dirty comments in this page. Shame !
Unable to find any political agenda to justify their existance as a political party, the BJP is hoping that Congress would create one for them. The Congress should table the Report, and leave it at that. Then they should initiate debates on TV (English as well as in regional languages) on what people think of the revealed facts, and what action they would like taken. It should not be the typical debate, as normally found on TV, wherein BJP sends in noise makers who do not allow others to be heard. It should be on lines of "We The People" on NDTV. However, the discussion should not be hijacked by the Moderator who prefers to hear her / his voice more than that of the audience. No one can quarrel with what people want!
Ideally there should be Ram temple be built in that place.Mughals has destryoed thousands of temples
Some "secularists" suggest building a museum, hospital or school at the site in Ayodhya in the name of communal harmony. May I suggest them to start building either of these from Mecca or Medina. I think media uses anything to do with Ayodhya against BJP while consciously ignoring to pursue the corruption cases against the Congress ministers, threat calls made to CJ of Chennai HC and the state of price rise in all essential commodities. Let the govt. and elite English Media talk about the issues concerning the common man. Elections are over. Petrol prices are back up again. Discuss it your forums as many times as you give to Ayodhya.
Baberi Mosque report though late is better than never. But where are those congressmen who said immediately after demolition" The mosque will be rebuild"?
HI sukesh manav, you are hiding your RSS face behind Jai Hind !!!come out, we know u clearly. We are the free thinkers are the owners of this Great Land, not you RSS thinkers
I believe BJP should be wise to fight it legally. Let congress build the mosque again. Then see what happens. I hope foolishness of Gandhi and Nehru with the partition of Bharat will be rectified. Let all believing in the ethos of the Great land unite and think wisely not to be bogged down by barbarian philosophy.Jai Hind!Jai Hind!
All said and done , medium qulaity rice is selling at Rs35/ a Kg and Dal at Rs75/- a Kg and the traders are expecting that the prices will will still shoot up further given the uncertainity/ partial failure of monsoon!! Is there any on in the ruling party or the opposition worried about this state of affairs or are they still going to be wangling on masjids and mandirs ???
The Babri Masjid was only the victory symbol of the invading Mughal emperor, Babur and was built after demolishing the Ram Temple at Ayodhya. It had no religious value for the Muslims when it was built. The first recorded Hindu-Muslim conflict over the issue took place in 1853, after the Mughal empire had become very weak and was on the verge of extinction. Though the Hindus wanted the mosque structure demolished and the Ram Temple re-built at the site, it is to be believed that they did not dare to challenge the Mughal empire. That was why the first Hindu-Muslim conflict over it happened only in 1853. Neither the BJP nor any of the present day Hindu organizations were born at that time(1853). Considering that Ayodhya, Mathura and Kashi are as sacred to the Hindus as Mecca and Median are for the Muslims, it would be in the of larger interest of communal harmony in the country that Muslims agree for an amicable solution of the issue instead of precipitating it any longer.
By calling the structure a mosque, the govt has already declared it's intention and decision. It was a unused structure where no namaz was offered for last many decades.
I very humbly requet the BJP leaders not to disown the Ramjanmabhoomi movement. It is at the core of your politicl identity and it is THE ISSUE which makes people, who vote for you, vote for you.
