Patna Flaying Rahul Gandhi for his 'Bihar Shining' remarks, BJP said the Congress would get a "befitting reply" as the NDA was set to return to power in the state.

Senior BJP leader and party spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said India was indeed shining in 2004 when the slogan was coined by the NDA, but the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government lost the polls despite the development ushered in by it.

"This time NDA will give a befitting reply in Bihar. It will return to power aided by its performance in the past five years," he said and criticised the Amethi MP for drawing the analogy.

Rahul during his recent poll campaigns in Bihar had said the ruling NDA was projecting 'Bihar Shining', which would boomerang like its 'India Shining' six years ago.
