Chandigarh, March 8 The Chandigarh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party will hold a workers’ meet here on Sunday, which would be addressed by the chief ministers of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. The BJP leaders have already started cornering the UPA government ahead of the next Parliamentary election for its alleged anti-people policies.

The workers’ meet, to be held at Nehru Park in Sector 22, Chandigarh, will mainly focus on issues where the Congress-led UPA government has faltered during its four year tenure. The BJP wants to highlight the failures of the Congress for electoral benefit.

Local BJP leaders have decided to honour Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal and his Himachal counterpart Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal on the occasion, but senior BJP leaders will mainly focus their attention on UPA-bashing.

BJP spokesperson Kehar Singh Koundel said the two leaders will address the workers and apprise them of the ‘anti-people and anti-poor’ policies of the Congress-led UPA government.

“The above leaders will also appeal to the workers for making themselves ready for the coming Lok Sabha elections. Balbir Punj, in-charge of BJP Affairs in Punjab and Chandigarh and Kiran Ghai, co-incharge will also be present at the meet,” he added.

Koundel said Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal and Parkash Singh Badal, former-MP Satya Pal Jain and Chandigarh BJP president Kamla Sharma will be honoured at the rally.
