BMC elections: Bollywood adds glamour to booths

Mumbai Bollywood celebrities on Thursday queued up outside polling booths to vote for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.

The tinsel town heroes who got their finger inked were actor Shah Rukh Khan, scriptwriter Salim Khan, son Arbaaz, filmmakers Rakesh Omprakash Mehra and Madhur Bhandarkar.

However, except Jaya Bachchan, who voted at a booth in Juhu, no other member of the family turned up. Big B who recently underwent abdominal surgery is recuperating at a hospital in Mumbai.

While actor Aamir Khan’s first wife Reena Dutta cast her vote in Bandra, Shatrughna Sinha’s wife Poonam voted in Juhu-Versova along with actor Anupam Kher.

Producer Pritish Nandy, singer Kailash Kher and actors Dia Mirza, Sonali Bendre, Pooja Bedi, Shakti Kapoor, Boman Irani, Rajat Kapoor, Celina Jaitley, Divya Dutta, Tisca Chopra also turned up to exercise their franchise.

B-town also took to the social media to encourage Mumbaikars to vote.
