Bank of India, ICICI champs

Mumbai, March 20 Bank of India beat host RBI in the finals of 52nd Sir Benegal Ramarao Inter Bank Cricket Tournament in the senior division. In the junior division ICICI Bank clinch the title when they beat Bombay Mercantile Co-op Bank by six wickets in the finals. RBI’s Executive Director G. Gopalkrishna and former test cricketer Chandrakant Pandit gave away the trophies to the winners. MCA’s Vice President Ravi Sawant, Avi Sule, RBI’s Regional Director Narayan Rao were also present on this occasion.

In the senior division final Bank of India while batting first scored 282 for five after the century from Vineet Sarang (127). He was well supported by Pankaj Jaiswal (60) and Samir Apte (35). While chasing this tough target Reserve Bank of India collapsed at 192 after a good start. Baring Rajesh More (50) and Kunar Nar (42) no other batsman could bat confidently. For BOI Satish Manjrekar took 4 for 35 and Samir Apte took 3 for 30 to gain the victory to their team. Vineet Sarang was declared the Man of the Match.

In the junior division final ICICI Bank bowled out their rivals Bombay Mercantile Co-op Bank to just 141 runs and achieved this target with just four wickets.

In the senior division Vineet Sarang of BOI was declared as the Best Batsman of the Tournament while Ravishankar Singh of (UBI) was adjudged as the Best Bowler in the tournament. In the Junior Division Kalyani Ghorpade of BMCB and Manish Surve of SBI were rewarded with Best Batsman and Bowler respectively.
