New Delhi, October 9: Amidst growing demands for a ban on Bajrang Dal, the Hindu outfit on Thursday warned that any such move would have ‘grave consequences’ for the government politically as there is ‘no legal ground’ for such an action.

Bajrang Dal convenor Prakash Sharma insisted that his outfit could not be compared with SIMI as is being done by some political parties.

"The SIMI carries out outright hate campaigns which are anti-India and anti-people while the Bajrang Dal only has the motive to defend Hindu rights," he said while reacting to demands for imposing a ban on the Dal.

"When the Centre is incapable of collecting enough evidence to ban SIMI, what evidence you think they may have against us," Sharma said, adding ‘in case they ban us it will have grave consequences for the government politically.’

ban bajrang by ananthan on 10 Oct 2008

Mahatma wanted Congress to be banned. He wanted Nehru to get elected on his merit.Freedom struggle was a national movement not Nehrus.Cong is not gahndhian although Nehru stole gandhi name- a trademark cheating.60 years it has not solved 1 problem. What is cong culture and specific ability? lies, corruption, dynasty rule, stealing peoples money, immorality, no patriotic fervour

I agree by Prateek on 10 Oct 2008

Jai Shri Ram! Don't worry Mr. Sharma, we are with you. Enough of these atrocities on Hindus by this govt. We demand our rights and civil liberties.

HUMANITY by Alfred on 10 Oct 2008

I have no idea how well Prakash Sharma's educational level is.? In the age of internet and science where the idea of GOD sounds absurd. So what is he trying to protect Hinduvata. He is a super moron. Anyone who spreads hate and hurts another human being for whatever reason must be brought to the full extent of the law. Let no one try to capatilize the idea of religion and use it as a pretext to harm another human any such leader should be immediately brought to justuce and jailed at least for the rest of his her natural life.

Shame on them by Raj on 10 Oct 2008

It must be banned as it is a group of hoodlums set to spoil the basics of the oldest religion in the world. I am a hindu and am ashamed when such good for nothing bums pretend to be fighting for a cause. there only cause is crimes like land grabbing, eve teasing and being hench men for political parties. I am a born hindu and I request the govt of India to get rid of this filth

"Legal Ground" by Gary McKenzie on 09 Oct 2008

All I can say is that if murder, rape and pillage are not "legal ground" for banning something, then what the hell is?

Counter-productive. by Ravindra on 09 Oct 2008

Bajrang Dal is a nationalist organisation. To ban it to appease anti-national forces will be dreadfully counter-productive for the secular mafia in control of India.

INDIAN DEMOCRACY is close to being FLAWED with Bajrang Dal / VHP by Raja Swamy on 09 Oct 2008

People should have their freedom choice of mind to choose which ever GOD who answers their prayers / rituals / poojas / fasting . Will these BD/VHP justify themselves if their women folk get raped and men folks getting slaughtered for “No Reason” in the middle of the night by mobs of thoudans as it happened to Kandhamal Christians? Kandhamal Christians of 50000 in camps have lost everything, but still hanging to their FAITH. Does this show forced conversion, as these murderous scums claim ???Well, it is sad that RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal, etc..and the likes engineer massacres to get their agenda done (with 2009 elections nearing) Why not all secular forces including NDA parties join together, alienate and defeat the BJP which is the parent organization for these FASCIST GROPUS ? After all Dalits ; SC/ST’s, other backward classes constitute 80% of the Indian masses. Well my friend only Pakistan, China and the likes will have the last laugh, as India moves to HINDU TALIBANISM !!!

Banning us will have grave consequences: Bajrang Dal by sandhya on 09 Oct 2008

Its the most absurd thing. How can you ban these organizations. first you need to ban on christian missionaries who are determined to convert entire country into Christianity. please look into this seriously or we will witness another division of our country they way we witnessed partisan of India into Pakistan and Bangladesh...Please do NOT equate SIMI activities with Bajarang Dal. They are pole apart. Indonesia is witnessing this massive conversion issue (and of course potential division of the country). Now India and China is the next target...Please understand this grave issue and stop the conversion. The Missionaries are NOT providing selfless services - they are luring poor by means of education, health and other money related incentives to convert people. why can't they provide the service 'WITHOUT CONVERTING' people....This question goes to mother Teressa and her organization as well.

Dirty Politics by Umesh P Singh on 09 Oct 2008

It is unfair to ban Bajarang Dal. U can't compare BD with SIMI.Some piliticians who r worst want to ban Bajarang dal for vote bank . First those politicians should be hanged immediately without fail. Actually they are the real terrorists who r supporing them.

Bajrang-Dal ban by Ramkumar on 09 Oct 2008

I think it is time to give Bajrang Dal 'the boot'. It is a 'goonda' agency for the insecure minds with very shallow view of the world. BAN THEM. Even better - create a seperate prison to house all of them. I think the tax payer will benefit from their rehabilitation, inside a prison.

Abandon violence and bring poor hindus to mainstream economic success of India.. by Jatin Patel on 09 Oct 2008

Agreed to your pro-hindu rights, but demonstrate them ground up and not by violence. Christians are able to lure rural poor ignored by educated and well doing hindus. Christianity in India is not a violent religion unlike jehadic Islam. Do use the brains and if you really care for hindus, bring the hinduism forward by also doing some work for the poor and needy. They are human beings also and are hindus! You will never be able to win moolahs and big mouthy Christians, but you can definately stand up for your fellow hindus in need, in India. After 99% of hindus are taken care off, you can protest luring of rural poor on name of conversion etc. Until then you are not justified for your violence and will proove only to be a tool of BJP/VHP, who are power hungry monks.

Evidence?? by Rajesh on 09 Oct 2008

Evidence?? This guy must be joking. Look around, you will find the dead bodies of all those innocents who died in the violence that you guys created. Isn't that enough for you or you want to count more to be satisfied? Depends on whether you can count and that depends on common sense, which you dont have!!

BAN THEM NOW by Indian on 09 Oct 2008

This is the reason why Bajrang Dal/VHP should be banned ASAP, they are openly issuing threats...

bajrang by jigna on 09 Oct 2008

Simi is killing innocent people due to religions hatred for Hinduism and other religions. Basically musllims are born haters. Hindus are tolerant to let them live in our country. What has Bajrang Dal done? They are protecting our religious beliefs, why should anyone convert us forcibly. We are not actors that we are ready to do anything for fame right Kareena , Amir/saif/converting people. Also scan these cheap actors who think they are some rare species. This Government has no ethics they are anti-Hindus, Sonia,Amar/Mua;ayam/Lalu/Assads/Muftis/Hurriyat terrorists/jihadi politicians housed by sonia. If she hates the Indians why is she in India. Bajrang Dal are not insane fanatics killing people. India is a country of all religions and each one has to live with its inborn religion. Just for a meal, one cannot convert a poor man. You are doing just like the politicians dividing people on basis of votes. The Army should step in Delhi because the govt. is doing little to safeguard us.
