Mamata Benerjee fought for the rights of farmers. What bengal government should have done is to follow Gujarat example by offering farmers twice the market price for their land. But Marxists have contempt for farmers, whom they regard as Kulaks and counter revolutionaries. In terms of relocation it would be better for Bengali Marxists to relocate to Bangladesh, and implement their ideas, which will hopefully turn the tide of illegal immigration from Bangladesh. The politicians have to work for the country and the people and not hold them to ransom for their personal benefits.
