Some gardeners do have a creative mind and are always on a lookout to do something different. In the accompanying picture, you will see a new concept of garden feature. The pots have been placed in the structure in such a way that only the rims are visible. One could change the pots at will to give a new look everyday. Another advantage of such a display is that the pots, which may not be presentable at times, are not visible. The structure could be made finer using costly material. One thing is for sure, the visitors will have to give a second look and that is the gardner’s reward.

* I have a few trees in my garden and need only small quantities of pesticides and fertilizers. The packs available in the market are very big. The rest of it goes waste as the bottle opened once looses its effect. What should I do or is there any place where I can get small packings from?
Pritam Singh, Chandigarh
Join Chandigarh Co-operative Kitchen Gardening Society, Sector 23. As a member you will be entitled to buy small quantities of chemicals and fertilizers besides getting the spray facility.

* I have bought one guava plant for my home garden. I have also made a pit for that. Should I go ahead and plant it? Any precaution? The plant is in a pot.
Sangeeta, Mohali
Sangeeta, if the plant is in a pot, I will advise you to wait for some more time. The weather is still very hot and the rains are missing. You can proceed by the end of this month.

* Can I still go through the process of making a lawn by exposing the soil or is it too late for the season?
Kavita , Panchkula
You can follow the process till October.

* There are small white insects on my vegetable plants that fly when the plant is disturbed. Are these harmful and what should I do to control them?
Parveen, Chandigarh
Your plants have been attacked by white fly, which spreads virus too. Spray rogor, dissolved at one milliliter to a liter of water. Repeat after a fortnight.
