New Delhi A bomb scare delayed the New Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi Express on Wednesday morning by more than an hour. Security checks were conducted on the train at the New Delhi Railway Station and at the Ghaziabad Railway Station after the Uttar Pradesh Police received information that a bomb had been placed in the train.

"The UP Police informed the Railway Police at New Delhi and Ghaziabad about a possible bomb in the Shatabdi at 4 am," said an official of the Northern Railway.

"The train was allowed to depart on schedule at 6:15 am. However, it was stopped at Ghaziabad from 6:40 to 7:56 am and rechecked," said a Northern Railway spokesperson.
