Bomb scare in Jammu

Jammu A hoax bomb tip off outside Kala Kendra in Gandhi Nagar put the Jammu Police on tenterhooks, also creating panic in the area on Sunday night.

People ran helter-skelter for cover, as the hoax bomb tip off spread outside the Kala Kendra, where the Red Cross Mela was under progress, official sources informed.

However, nothing was found after a search operation in the area, sources stated.

Hundreds of people were at the Red Cross Mela venue at Kala Kandra, which was under progress for the second day.

Sources informed that the Gandhi Nagar Police received a tip off about some explosive or bomb lying outside the Kala Kendra, near the parking lot.

A team of the police rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the information and the area was immediately cordoned off for the combing operation.

However, nothing was recovered during a search operation, sources informed, adding that the tip off was found to be a hoax.

Sources pointed out that the police is verifying about the authenticity of the tip off.
