Washington Brad Pitt has beaten Tom Cruise, as far as box office collections of their new films are concerned.

Both Pitt and Cruise had their films ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ and ‘Valkyrie’ respectively, opened on Christmas Day, reports ‘Fox News’.

While Pitt’s film has raked in a whopping 82 million dollars in the thirteen days since its release, Cruise’s ‘Valkyrie’ is lagging behind at 62 million dollars.

However, Pitt’s ex-wife Jennifer Aniston’s ‘Marley and Me’, which hit the theatres on the same day, is way ahead with 110 million dollars until now and still continuing to go strong.

While ‘Valkyrie’ is not a flop, its budget has been pegged at 90 to 100 million dollars, with another 50 million dollars at least for promotion.

On the other hand ‘Button’ is a hit, which is really a tribute to Paramount's marketing and publicity, as the studio created buzz for this unwieldy project for months leading up its release.
