London Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt is making an attempt to drop his sex symbol image, it seems, by hiding his chiselled looks with a beard.

The 43-year-old actor has been seen sporting a beard like Johnny Depp's character Jack Sparrow from the 'Pirates of The Caribbean' films and has tied up his facial hair into mini ponytails threaded with silver beads, reported Daily Mail online.

Pitt's grey beard was on show as he arrived at Narita International airport in the eastern suburbs of Tokyo.

Along with his new beard, Brad hid behind a pair of sunglasses and a beanie hat. And if he was hoping to put his fans off his track, his beard certainly did the trick.

Carrying his own bags, the star managed to slip unnoticed past a crowd waiting for him outside the airport.

Facial hair is currently a popular trend amongst male celebrities, including soccer star David Beckham and Prince William.
