Chandigarh, January 15 The Special Cell of Chandigarh Police has booked a Manimajra resident Amit Arora on charges of creating nuisance and breach of public peace.

Amit was arrested after the Special Cell officials conducted a three-day inquiry on a complaint lodged by Amit’s father Sant Lal Arora, a Manimajra-based photographer. According to the police, Amit was harassing his own sister with the help of his friends, who work at a finance-company in Sector 8.

Amit’s father in his complaint claimed that some unknown person was harassing his daughter on phone by alluring her to miss her classes and participate in a photo-shoot in a hotel room. The complainant also mentioned a few mobile phone numbers from which Arora’s daughter was receiving calls.

The Special Cell officials tracked the mobile phone numbers mentioned in Arora’s complaint which led them to a Sector 20 resident Neha, who had taken a mobile phone connection in the name of her neighbour. Neha is also his daughter’s friend.

The police questioned Neha, who led them to a customer-care executive Deep, working in a finance company in Sector 8. On questioning Deep, Special Cell officials caught his colleague Ashima, who at the behest of Amit had hatched the entire conspiracy to trouble Arora’s daughter.

On questioning Amit late in the evening on Monday, Amit disclosed that he wanted to teach his sister a lesson for which he planned the entire drama. Special Cell handed over Amit and his accomplices to Manimajra police personnel, who booked them on charges of creating nuisance and breach of public peace.
