Sydney, January 6: Controversial umpire Steve Bucknor is most likely to sit out of the third cricket Test at Perth after a livid Indian team went public with their grouse against the veteran West Indian.

It is learnt that ICC is favourably inclined to agree with the request of the Indian team that Bucknor does not stand in any other match of the ongoing series.

Without taking names, Indian team manager Chetan Chauhan made it known his team's feelings about the umpires in the Sydney Test match.

"I would like to express the sentiment of the team. The way the umpiring was, the team is agitated and upset," Chauhan said after the team's 122-run loss to Australia.

"A lot of decisions have gone against us, of course a few went against the Australians also. But it really affected us."

"Had some of the decisions, I would say 50 per cent of the decisions, were received in our favour, the result would have been different," he added.

Chauhan said the complain had nothing to do with India losing the game and was a general disappointment with the officiating.

"We're not saying this because we have lost the game.

It was for everybody to see. I have been informed by the BCCI that they are lodging a strong protest with the ICC so that some of the incompetent umpires do not umpire in the rest of the series," he said.

The Indian team management is likely to draft a carefully worded letter about their request to not let Bucknor, or his partner Mark Benson in this Test, stand further in this series.

temper your comments by vishal on 07 Jan 2008

why do indian sound like cry-babies even when they are right ? Can you all please stop whining and using extreme emotions and bad words ? Can't you state your grouse or your case in simple adult language ? Is it necessary to say "Australian monkeys" ? I would understand if one or two odd people were doing this name calling. But when everybody starts using such language and sentiments it reflects poorly on the maturity of the nations as a whole. Please have some decorum and decency.

good on ya by Johnno on 08 Jan 2008

Well Done Vishal.I am an Australian and I can't believe a decent people like the Indians would be reduced to such derogatory comments. Sure the 2nd test was an unfair result to you guys and this Harbighan incident is being blown way out of preportion I am looking forward to a good 3rd test in perth. Tony grieg actually had a good point about ponting here. http://www.cricinfo.com/talk/content/multimedia/329472.htmlPerhaps a shake hands and lets put this behind us is in order I say...

dear Johnno by Vishal on 09 Jan 2008

Johnno - The indians that are posting here are mostly people who have never been outside India especially to any western country and have not experienced western fairness, decency and generosity. Thier entire opinion of whites come from sundry newspaper articles about Indians in the west. And guess what kind of story the papers publish ? Stories that detail the bad stuff that happens to Indians overseas. They never publish all the good things that Indians experience in the west on an everyday basis. Which is why the perception of these people is so skewed. But worry not. I have taken upon myself to educate my fellow countrymen and perchance rid them of their stupid, uninformed, bigoted views. As for cricket, bad umpiring has been there since the beginning of the game. It's part of cricket and must be taken in the right spirit. But i guess "the right spirit" has goen missing from the sport because of the overall blatant commercialization of the game. Cricket has become as ridiculousm over the top and garish as WWF's fake wrestling. Comraderie has been replaced by cut throat competetiveness. The game has lost it's soul - to Kerry Packer !!!

Poor umpiring at Sidney by AGR on 07 Jan 2008

These umpires have not used the 3rd umpire when they should have, the decision making ability is poor. They consult a crooked opposition caption for a catch. All this reflects poorly upon the 2 umpires in question. Can these umpires not lose some of their benefits or be dropped - just as players would for lack of form ?

Bucknor beats Lara's record by Sathish on 07 Jan 2008

Bucknor top scored and beat Lara's record (463 runs - Australia's first innings run).He simple top scored and made sure Australia reach 400 plus. There is definitely something going on underneath the reality. Why does the third umpire also gave bad decision, i guess there is some match fixing. Australian cricket team is a bunch of kids, crying and pampered always to win all the crickets matches they play and dont want to be given out. They need to be given psychology treatment especially Mr Ponting for his kiddish attitude.

BAN ON BHAJJI by B. SUDIPTA on 07 Jan 2008

HARBHAJAN WAS REQUIRED TO BE OUT OF THE GAME AS THE GREATEST AUSSIE CAPTAIN COULD NOT MAKE CENTURY AGAINST HIM , SO ALL THE DRAMA , SAABASH AUSSIE CAPTAIN YOU COULD BE A BETTER PLANER , RATHER THAN A CRICKETER , GO AND MAKE A CENTURY IN PERTH WITHOUT BHAJJI.

CRICKET by B. SUDIPTA on 07 Jan 2008

HE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAND IN ANY TYPE OF CRICKET , EVEN IN GALI CRICKET

BCCI must lodg a strong protest with the ICC so that some of the incompetent umpires do not umpire in the rest of the series.I will say this match should be cosidered as cancelled no result an other match should be played and Harbajan should not be BANNED.calloff the ture otherwise

Umpires helped Australia win again by Stephane on 07 Jan 2008

Call off the tour, fight with ICC to remove all five umpires (including 5th umpire Ricky Ponting) or let your team suffer demoralization for wrong decisions

Call-off the tour by Venkat on 07 Jan 2008

BCCI should threaten to call-off the tour, because of the biased officiating in both Umpiring and Harbhajan affair. If there is no serious response from the BCCI as in the past, its clear that BCCI is after only money and not on the Cricketing interests, BCCI has to show its true image, take the example of SriLankan Board.

Call - off the tour by Raj on 07 Jan 2008

I cant agree more. BCCI should call off the tour. Why to play if umpiring is not right. Always India and other subcontinent team suffer and Aussies are favoured every time. In SA, Indians were blamed for excessive appealing. Are Aussies not doing the same. ICC has favouritism behaviour towards Aussies. India should pull out.

stand up instead of cry by ds on 06 Jan 2008
