With no formal training in filmmaking this trio of young aspiring entrepreneurs, who are pursuing a management degree from Marathwada Mitra Mandal College of Engineering, have made a film for several other business graduates who want to start their own business. Network of Entrepreneurs is a 10 minutes documentary film, which is a visual compilation of interviews of a few successful young entrepreneurs in the city. Sanyog Mohite, a mechanical engineer, Prashant Pawar, a pharmacist and Sandeep Mane, a commerce graduate were inspired by the lecture delivered by Vinod Shastri, main co-ordinator, National Entrepreneurs' Network (NEN), at their College.

The National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) was founded in 2002 and is an initiative of the Wadhwani Foundation. It works to inspire, educate and support the next generation of high-growth entrepreneurs in India. It was co-founded by five of India's premier academic institutions like IIT Bombay; IIM Ahmedabad; SP Jain Institute, Bombay; IBAB, Bangalore and BITS Pilani.

"We never had any kind of formal training in the filmmaking. During one of the motivational lectures at our college, I met Vinod Shastri and became more curious about the entrepreneurship. Earlier it was never on my mind. I had decided to take up a job after finishing my business degree," says Mohite who has directed the documentary.

The trio will start showcasing this inspiring documentary in various business schools from the end of this month.

"Our main aim was to convey that to start a business one doesn't always need to invest his/her money. There are various platforms and opportunities of finances available and an aspiring entrepreneur needs to be well informed about all such openings. So we decided to pick a few young entrepreneurs from Pune between the age group of 23 to 30 and decided to interview them," says Pawar, who has handled camera for the documentary.

The documentary took 48 hours to complete, with one hand held camcorder and no editing. The trio believe that there is an opportunity today to inspire and prepare future entrepreneurs and for this journey it is important to help them pursue and realise their dreams. "There are a lot of students who aspire to start their own firms, but get bogged down by the factors like arrangement of finances and responsibility of running a business, so it is very important that they consult right people," says Mane.
