Karachi, July 3: The Australian and English players might be apprehensive about visiting Pakistan for the September-slated Champions Trophy, but the chiefs of the respective boards have no such problems as they are scheduled to reach here at the weekend for the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) silver jubilee celebrations and Asia Cup final.

The Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday confirmed that the chairman of Cricket Australia and English Cricket Board, Creag O' Connor and Giles Clarke would be in town for the ACC ceremony and the Asia Cup final.

"Other dignitaries from cricket playing nations are also coming, including the new chief executive of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Haroon Loghart," one official said.

He said that the Indian and Sri Lankan boards would be strongly represented by I S Bindra, Niranjan Shah, Duleep Mendis and Arjuna Ranatunga who have already sent in their confirmation.

The PCB has arranged a one-day seminar entitled "ACC Silver Jubilee - Asian cricket past, present and future" on Saturday followed by a grand dinner the same night at one of the city's most historic spots, the Mohatta Palace.

The dinner is being arranged by a professional event manager and would have cultural dances and fashion shows highlighting the cultures of Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and some other countries.

The PCB official said over 100 delegates from the member countries of the ACC will be in town for the events.

"However the new ICC President, David Morgan and the head of New Zealand Cricket have sent in their regrets for their unavailability in the events," he said.
