The central investigating agency submitted its report in a sealed cover before Justice Dipankar Dutta, who adjourned the matter till Friday for further hearing.
Different parties, including petitioner Rukbanur Rehman, brother of the deceased, made a plea that a copy of the report be given to him.
Justice Dutta, however, said the issue of circulating report to the parties would be taken up by the court on Friday.
Rizwanur's body was found lying beside rail tracks on September 17, a month after his marriage to Priyanka Todi, daughter of businessman Ashok Todi.
The city witnessed widespread protests thereafter.
The CBI had been directed on October 16 by Justice Soumitra Pal, who was earlier hearing the case, to investigate the issue and submit its report within two months.
The agency had then started a murder case against Priyanka's father Ashok Todi and others.
The agency had, however, on December 17 sought time till Tuesday to submit the report as formalities had not been completed.
Rizwanur had married Priyanka Todi, daughter of Ashok Todi, under the Special Marriage Act on August 18 and was living with her at his residence from August 21.
It was alleged that Rizwanur and Priyanka were summoned to the Kolkata Police headquarters Lalbazar thrice and she returned to her father's home on the third occasion on September eight following a written assurance by her uncle that she could return to her in-laws after a week.
But she never returned. Rizwanur failed to trace her or contact her and his body was found on the railway tracks on September 21 leading to a public outcry here.
Interestingly, Priyanka has in a written statement on December eight said that Ruqbanur Rehman had tried to force his younger brother Rizwanur, who was mysteriously found dead on September 21, to sign divorce papers on the night of September 19.
Her statement, however, was silent on the role of senior Kolkata Police officers who had allegedly threatened Rizwanur and which was being investigated by the CBI.
