Lucknow, July 21 With many unanswered questions looming large in the Arushi murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sent a letter to the state Director General of Police’s office, inquiring about the Krishna’s clothes.

The clothes of the prime accused in the double murder case were allegedly seized by the Noida police before the agency took over the investigation.

Sources said the CBI team believes that the Noida police had seized Krishna’s clothes on the day they picked him up for interrogation after Hemraj was found dead.

The letter, however, is likely to spark a fresh row between the CBI and the Noida police. The then Investigation Officer (IO) of Noida police B R Nanoriya as well as Noida Senior

Superintendent of Police R K Chaturvedi, deny the CBI’s claim.

Nanoriya, who is now the senior sub-inspector at Deoband police station in Saharanpur, said they did not seize any of Krishna’s clothes.

“Krishna was not an accused when he was detained with the Noida police. Why would the police seize his clothes when his involvement in the crime had not come to light till that time?” said Chaturvedi.

Jagveer Singh Mullick, who was made the IO after Nanoriya’s transfer and who had arrested Talwar told The Indian Express, “I prepared the documents of the case when it went to the CBI. The Noida police did not have any of Krishna’s clothes.”
