CHA outplay JK Police 2-1

Chandigarh, November 4 Chandigarh Hockey Association XI (CHA) trounced JK Police team 2-1 on the second day of 37th SN Vohra Gurmit Memorial Hockey Tournament at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium here today.

Satwinder Singh of CHA team fired the first goal in 7th minute of the match through a field goal. JK team missed chances during the 13th minute when they fail to convert the penalty corner. During the 26th minute, CHA team too did not goal ore to increase its goal tally as they fail to convert the penalty corner. Thereafter, the JK team lost three more chances during the 32nd , 33rd and 40th minute of the match, but the much sought after moment came in 42nd minute only when Gurjeet Singh scored an equalizer by making no mistake in converting the penalty corner and leveled the score 1-1.

Satwinder of CHA team dimished all hopes of JK team by executing a brilliant field goal and decided the fate in favour of CHA 2-1.

In the second match of the day, CISF squad prevailed over Signals team 2-1. Signals gained lead in the initial moments of the match through a penalty corner they earned in 3rd minute. Sudesh Kumar capitalized on this chance. Five minutes later, CISF's Parvez scored the equalizer through field goal. 1-1. It was during the 31st minute, when Jaipal of CISF scored a goal and made the scoreboard read 2-1. After that, CISF did not let Signals to come back in action, eventually CISF won the game 2-1. While Chandigarh Hockey and Football Academy -42 defeated EME, Jalandhar teams 2-1 in the third match of the day. Harinder of CHFA opened the account for his team through two field goals during the 51st and 57th minute of the match. The EME Jalandhar reduced the margin one minute later when K Ball converted the penalty corner.
